Abbotsbury

Abbotsbury winds along a spectacular part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Abbotsbury is a very beautiful village, well appointed with two pubs, an excellent butcher, specialising in local Long Horn beef, art galleries and tearooms. The World’s only Swannery is nearby providing the unique experience of feeding the swans and in May/June admiring the newborn cygnets. The exotic Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens are a magical haven to explore. To the east is the popular seaside town of Weymouth, with its Georgian seafront, 17th century harbour, Sea Life Centre, Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. The Hive Beach at Burton Bradstock and its café, serving fresh local seafood and home made cakes is also nearby and perfect for sunbathing. Further west is the bustling market town of Bridport and the colourful, pretty town of Lyme Regis, with gentle waters for bathing, ideal for children.
